04.09.2022Hey, i know this video is two years old, but if you happen to see this comment, do you know about what the dimensions of one candy are with this recipe? We run a youth group and were thinking of playing the dalgona game from squid game one night, and we would just want to know what size cookie cutters to get. Also, would it be possible to pour these straight into a little metal case to let them cool, or would that be unsafe?

03.09.2022I made this recipe – very simple and easy. However, we didn't have the gas-flame-thingy, only an electric stove, so things were a little different.
1: On the lowest heat, the sugar WOULD NOT MELT (well, it didn't melt within 2 minutes or so, and I'm impatient). We used medium heat, and when the sugar started melting we lowered the heat by a little. We didn't burn it, though, so I think it was a success.
2: We used a non-stick pan, not a ladle.
3: A little baking soda goes a long way. We added too much on our first batch, and ended up with something not-so amazing.
4: I'd recommend adding a little salt. It makes it taste much better and helps balance out the sweetness.
Note: These tips are just a recommendation. If these tips fail you, I'm sorry TwT. All stoves/pans/burners are different.
EDIT: I just remembered something so I wanted to add it.
5: A plate that has been buttered works plenty fine, so you don't need parchment paper.
6: Stir in the baking soda completely. On our first batch, the 'bottom' of the dalgona candy was just pure melted sugar, no baking soda in it, and didn't have the same 'honeycomb' taste to it.
7: Beware of attempting this recipe. You will crave dalgona candy every second. Every second. And that craving will never cease. Never.
